I am a Health Care Assistant in Antrim Area Hospital Emergency Department. My role is to assist the Nursing team in all aspects of Nursing Care to deliver high quality person centred, safe, effective care.
Specialist qualification and experience
- One year experience in formal caring role
- NVQ level 3 in Clinical Health Care skills
- Venepuncture Training
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) recording - Training

The opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in the Emergency Care Setting. The opportunity to support the improvement of Disability awareness in our Emergency Department
Important success factors:
I am the infection control link for our Emergency Department and last year throughout the winter pressures I had a six month secondment to ensure that audits for every department within the acute hospital site were completed each week. I am proud I had this opportunity.
I have had excellent training and have been encouraged by my managers to enhance information about Disability Awareness within our team and through Department training.
