What attracted you to become a Nursing Assistant?
From a young age I have always known I wanted to work in the hospital but I was unsure of what role exactly. However I knew becoming a nursing assistant would help me make up my mind whether this role was for me. Also I have always enjoyed helping others in any way possible.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I get great satisfaction out of helping others. Some days even the smallest of things can make a person’s day or put a smile on their face which makes me feel good. But most of all I would have to say the people I have met and the friends I have made help me enjoy it the most.
Tell us about your most memorable moment in your role.
Being told I had been chosen as a finalist for the Carer Assistant of the Year award has to be Number 1. Also receiving my results of the K101 with Open University which I had passed.
How do you see your career developing as a Nursing Assistant?
I can definitely see myself progressing in my career the future. The next step for me would be Higher Education and I would be interested in applying for Stage 4 in Health and Social Care.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career as a Nursing Assistant?
My advice would be that you may face new challenges every single day meeting people from all different backgrounds. I would say that it is the most rewarding role a person could find and I would definitely give it a go.
